Surveillance Software... Can you really live
without it?
The most common misuse of the Internet in the workplace is non-work
related surfing. Unlike taking an extended lunch break to go shopping
where one's physical absence is observed, surfing the Internet whilst
at your desk often goes unnoticed by colleagues.
32.6% of workers surf the Internet with no specific objective (Source:
emarketer.com).
The 2002 Computer Securities Institute/FBI Computer Crime and Security
Survey found that 78% of employers reported staff abusing email and the
Internet systems whilst at work.
IDC Research estimates that 30% to 40% of employees' Internet activity
is not business related and costs organizations millions of dollars in
lost productivity.
Businessweek.com estimates that 70% of Internet porn traffic occurs
between the hours of 9am to 5pm. Even if not forwarded to others, staff
accessing such inappropriate information or images on their own PC
could be accused of causing harassment.
Security & Protection Basics for E-mail

organizations to protect themselves from the risk of email misuse.
- 10% of US employers

unwittingly.
Corporate Internet
Policy
Every business that
has internet access must have a clearly defined Internet Policy to
protect itself from the threats arising from inappropriate use.
- 30-40% of employees

Surveillance FAQ's
|
Is spying on my own computers legal?
Yes. As
long as your employees are aware that you are monitoring your computer
network. A good Acceptable Computer Use Policy signed by each employee
will notify them that you will be monitoring their computer, internet
and email use.
Will my staff be able
to turn off the surveillance?
No. Once
you install your program and adjust your options to your preference you
can select to run the program in STEALTH MODE. This makes it invisible
and untouchable by your staff.
How difficult is the
installation and set up of my new Surveillance Software?
Easy! Even the
most computer illiterate person can install and set up the preferences
in less than 10 minutes.
